THE STORY

The Film will employ a narrative documentary technique, meaning we will combine day in the life film techniques with narrative sketches, recreations, and dramatized scenes.

The premise is to re-trace the journey made by King Kalākaua in 1881.  Mechanized manufacturing sparked the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century. Now the steam engine powered ships and trains enabling a faster Global Economy. Vast changes were appearing in the coming twentieth century.  Determining how much alike we are, attention will be given to what has not changed in over 140 years.

SPECIAL PLACE

Each destination is a homeland, beloved and revered by her people.  Local contributors will share their feelings of what inspires them about their home, their ʻworldviewʻ, and the regional concepts of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.  Consequently, discovering the treasures  each location owns that inspire, enrich and educate will be shared.  The 20th century was marked by War, Nuclear Power, Space Exploration and the Digital Revolution. Our 21st century has the confirmation of a world economy and the impacts of global warming.  How does our global community  interpret Reverence, Hope, and embrace Imagination?
